THE CORE PRINCIPLES OF KFTS
Our educational foundation
1. EXPERIENCE, INNOVATION & RESEARCH
KFTS has been developing its pedogogcial approach since 1995. This rich and nuanced teaching experience, over the last thirty years, defines the daily work of the students.
KFTS seeks to innovate and develop new ideas in accordance with the ever-changing film and theatre industry, and in accordance with the requirements that must currently be met by the actor.
KFTS investigates film and theatre as a part of society, through the analysis of performances, directors, and scripts, old and new, in the pursuit of new knowledge.
2. PROFESSIONALISM, COLLABORATION & DIVERSITY
KFTS employs only the best and most highly educated teachers in Denmark, all of whom are active in the Danish Film and Theatre industry.
KFTS promotes and actively pursues collaborations with the prominent Danish arts organisations, most notably CPH PIX, the National Gallery of Denmark, Berlingske Tidende, and the the Danish Broadcasting Company (DR).
KFTS is committed to advancing diversity in our school. In order to ensure that our initiatives are effective, we continually assess our progress with self-evaluation and feedback from students, teachers, and staff. For a full diversity statement, see our About section.
3. LIFE COACHING, ARTS MANAGEMENT & CULTURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
KFTS is unique in that it offers a life coaching program that works interdependently with the acting course. The coaching is designed to facilitate the students investigative nature, and to safely challenge their habits and preconceptions.
KFTS offers, within the life coaching program, a comprehensive arts management module that covers fundraising, project management, and networking.
KFTS cultural entrepreneurship focuses on how an artist engages within a creative process, from inception to production. We teach our students how to navigate potential social or financial issues with their project, problem solving with creativity, and to be fully engaged and inspired in their professional interactions.
